T&Cs

Terms and Conditions must be accepted by all students and parents / carers

FEE PAYMENT

1. Fees cover one-half term. Discounts or refunds will not be given for classes missed by the pupil, unless explicitly arranged with the Principal.

2. The School should receive fees by the date shown on the invoice.

3. If you do not receive an invoice, please advise the Principal.

4. We offer a one week free taster session. If the student decides to join the class, he/she/the parents/carers should complete the Schools registration form and GDPR consent form. An invoice will then be issued for the remaining term fees.

5. The only payment method is via online bank transfer / BACS. An email with an invoice will be sent containing all payment details.

6. All fees are non-refundable. However, if a pupil has a long-term illness or injury, the Principal may refund fees at their discretion. This does not include illness or holidays taken during term time.

CLASSES AND ATTENDANCE

7. Parents of children under the age of 3 years old must remain on the premises at all times whilst their child is in attendance at Emma Jayne School of Dance due to our insurance policy.

8. On the rare occasion that a class is cancelled, it will be rescheduled. If this is not possible, the fees already paid will be subtracted from the next half term’s fees.

9. Students must be on time to class and be picked up on time.

10. Any child left unattended at the end of their class will be kept inside the dance studio with the class teacher, but maybe unable to supervise as will be teaching a class.

11. Parents/Carers are to understand that if they are late picking their child up, they have full responsibility for their child’s safety after class has ended. Parents will drop students at the front door of the building and not enter unless advised too by a member of staff.

12. All classes run back to back on the timetable; students must arrive ready to start their class, bringing as little as possible with them. The following items will be allowed:

Footwear for class – ballet/tap/jazz shoes
Roll mat (Modern classes)
Water bottle Medication (if required for class)

13. Students of Primary School age must be collected from the front entrance by a parent/carer or responsible adult. The teacher must be informed if persons other than the child’s parent or legal guardian will collect the child. Students under this age will not be permitted to leave unattended. Students of secondary age who have parental consent to walk to and from classes must let the Principal know if not attending classes. This will give peace of mind that the student is safe.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

14. Students wishing to discontinue their classes must pay for the full half term.

CORRECTIONS & PHYSICAL CONTACT

15. Dancing is a physical skill and in order to help and facilitate the student’s learning, the teacher may physically guide a movement by touch. This will be done in a professional manner, and the intention of the contact will be made clear. Students may also have contact with each other, i.e. holding hands.

UNIFORM AND APPEARANCE

16. We ask students to wear the recommended uniform for each class. The uniforms ensure students look elegant and feel confident in their surroundings. The uniform requirements are on the website www.emmajayneschoolofdance.co.uk

17. Footwear is required for all classes. Please check the uniform requirements for each genre taken.

18. Hair should always be off the face and neckline, neat and tidy. A bun is preferred for girls with long hair for ballet but we understand sometimes this is not possible. Shorter hair should be held back securely with clips and/or a hair band.

19. For safety reasons, jewellery must not be worn in classes.
